Fables of Chuen

Chuen is a multidisciplinary and multiplatform movement: the fusion of tradition with avant-garde, the regional with the global, and the artisanal with technology. This movement was founded to be a space for the dissemination of arts and culture and to create a place for expression and imagination. With printed and digital books, a mobile videogame, and literacy workshops, Chuen is a transmedia project that represents a moment of creativity and magic.

In Fables of Chuen, 22 multi-awarded artists, designers, illustrators, and writers come together to preserve traditional Mayan fables through 11 iBooks that offer a range of features, such as animations, quizzes, vocabulary games, audio, and other interactions that create an immersive reading experience. By combining art and technology, this collection aims to break down barriers hindering the spread of Mayan culture and cosmology.
